Our Guesthouse is located south of the beautiful Snaefellsnes Peninsula.
From Reykajvik, it takes approximately 2 hours to come to our place (180 kms), 1 hour from Borgarnes (90 kms).
Kast Guesthouse has a perfect location to visit the peninsula in a day and offers a very quiet environment with beautiful and varied landscapes such as mountains, ocean, and a fantastic view on the great Snaefellsjökull glacier.
We are located on the road 54 which goes all around the peninsula, being 15 kms from the famous church of Búðir and 30 kms from Arnarstapi and Jules Verne’s legend.
Ólafsvík is approximately 30 minutes driving from Kast while Stykkishólmur (the departure town of Baldur ferry for/from the Westfjords) is 45 minutes driving.
From Reykjavik/Borgarnes: Take road n°1 in direction of Akureyri, after approximately 1 hour driving, you will be in Borgarnes. From there, take road n°54 heading Ólafsvík, Arnarstapi or Búðir. After 1 hour driving, you will see a sign for Kast Gesthouse on the road, turn right and follow the road to the end.
From Stykkishólmur: Take road n°56 in direction of Borgarnes. After 20 minutes driving, turn right on road n°54 at the junction called Vegamot where the petrol station is. Keep driving for 20 minutes, and turn right at the sign Kast Guesthouse, follow the road to the end.
